Our sugar cane carrier bags are a sustainable alternative to standard polythene bags. The primary raw material is a polymer that is derived from waste sugar cane instead of fossil fuel. These bags will improve your green credentials and reduce your carbon footprint.
Sugar cane is a bio-based material produced from waste sugar cane and grown on reclaimed wasteland. Our sugar cane carrier bags are fully recyclable and 100% sustainable.
The process of photosynthesis as the sugar cane grows makes this product carbon neutral. Sugar cane actively captures CO2 from the atmosphere, while at the same time releasing oxygen.
This is the clever bit… we turn the waste sugar cane into ethanol. The ethanol is turned into Ethylene and then into “Green PE” Polymer/polyethylene and from this bio-based polymer we make our Sugar cane carrier bags!
